Developing the full potential of Marcellus Shale

PDC Mountaineer is a joint venture ("JV") formed in 2009 between PDC Energy and Lime Rock Partners, an experienced investor in, and provider of, growth capital for energy companies worldwide. Headquartered in Bridgeport, West Virginia, the JV is focused on exploration and development of natural gas in the Marcellus Shale play.

PDC Mountaineer combines PDC Energy's 40 years of operational experience developing unconventional natural gas with Lime Rock Partners' capital investment. The JV plans to drill approximately 500 horizontal and vertical wells on its net Marcellus holdings of 55,000 acres.

The combination of a strong producing asset and growth potential in the Marcellus shale gives PDC Mountaineer the opportunity to increase production, develop low cost reserves, and expand acreage in the Marcellus Shale fairway.
